Abiquiu Fields Incense
Abiquiu Fields Incense
Our branded hand-rolled incense sticks are richly infused with the traditional scents of sage and sweetgrass, inspired by hills and basins just north of Santa Fe, New Mexico nearby the longtime home of artist, Georgia O'Keefe.
Many Native American tribal communities consider sage and sweetgrass as sacred plants and are often used in prayer, smudging, and purifying ceremonies. It is usually braided, dried, and burned. It is normally burned at the beginning of a prayer or ceremony to attract positive energies.
Sweetgrass braids smolder and don't produce an open flame when burned. Just as the sweet scent of this natural grass is attractive and pleasing to people, so is it attractive to good spirits.
Suggested Ritual: Before using, center yourself and focus on your intention. Light the tip of the incense until ignited, then gently blow the flame out. The incense will glow, unraveling the cleansing smoke and filling your sacred space.
